Why BuildGreen Saskatchewan?

Like the rest of the Prairie Provinces, Saskatchewan’s landscape is remarkable in its diversity. From the rugged Taiga Shield in the North, through the expansive Boreal Shield and Boreal Plain, to the sweeping southern Prairies, this geographic variety results in a medley of climatic conditions and unpredictable weather patterns. Our built environment—the very infrastructures we depend on—faces mounting pressure from these changes. It's now crucial to champion sustainable buildings and infrastructure that can not only withstand but thrive within our unique environmental context.

However, there exists a significant gap in opportunities for a multi-disciplinary and multi-stakeholder approach to crafting these sustainable solutions. Stakeholders often find themselves siloed, and isolated in their efforts as they work hard at devising practical solutions that cater specifically to Saskatchewan's distinctive needs.

At the BuildGreen Saskatchewan conference, we are set to break down these barriers.

This event is about uniting a diverse array of stakeholders—industry professionals, policymakers, students, researchers, homebuilders, developers, and communities, including Indigenous peoples and newcomers. Together, we will forge a path toward creating sustainable and resilient building infrastructure tailored for Saskatchewan. This is not just a conference; it's a call to action for collaboration that will redefine our approach to sustainability in the face of a changing climate.
